Can you explain the hadith about missing the asr prayer?
Concerning the hadith; Whoever misses the ‘Asr prayer, it is as if he had lost his family and his wealth', does this refer only to the one that misses the first congregation, or the one who misses all subsequent congregation and prays it alone eventually, or the one who consciously misses praying it at all during its duration?
Answer:
In the hadith, “Whoever misses the ‘Asr prayer, it is as if he had lost his family and his wealth” (Bukhari, Muslim), missing the asr prayer refers to not praying the asr prayer in its time, in other words not praying it before the sunset.
Besides, there are some other hadiths that state this meaning clearly:
Narrated from Ibn-i Burayda:
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) stated that:
“Whoever does not pray the asr prayer until the sunset and abandons it, his deeds of worship become void.”
“Pray asr prayer as soon as its time starts.”(Musnad- Imam Abu Hanifa) Kaynak: http://askaquestionto.us - Can you explain the hadith about missing the asr prayer?
