What is the Ruling on Drinking Alcoholic Beverages?

What is the Islamic ruling on alcoholic beverages? Can a Muslim drink alcohol?

Answer:

"O ye who believe! Strong drink and games of chance and idols and divining arrows are only an infamy of Satan's handiwork. Leave it aside in order that ye may succeed." (Surah Al-Maida; 90)
"Satan seeketh only to cast among you enmity and hatred by means of strong drink and games of chance, and to turn you from remembrance of Allah and from (His) worship. Will ye then have done?" (Surah Al-Maida; 91)
“All drinks that intoxicate are unlawful (to drink.)” (Muslim)
"Truly, alcohol is the mother of every evil! And it is the major sin." (Tabarani)

As is informed by the ayats and hadith drinking alcoholic beverages are haram and mentioned among the major sins.

Narrated by the Companion, Jaabir
"If a large amount of anything causes intoxication, a small amount of it is also prohibited." (Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud & Ibn Majah)
“There people will not be able to enter the paradise; who rebels to his mother and father, who is an alcoholic, who mentiones what he gives all the time.” (Nasai)
“An Alcoholic may not enter into paradise.” (Hakim)
This “may not enter into paradise” doesn’t mean that they will not be able to enter into paradise eternally. It means they will not be able to enter into paradise in the first place. Tough these actions counted above are all haram, they don’t require Kufr. Those who commit these actions are not infidels but they are assumed as fasiq (sinner). And eternal hell is not the punishment given to them. (Kutub-u Sitta)
Jabir (r.a) narrated: Allah vowed to make those who drink alcoholic beverages to drink tinatu’l hibal. When Prophet was asked: what is it? He responded. It (tinatu’l hibal) is pus or sweat that comes out of human body. (Muslim)

Allah Deprived those who drink alcohol of Jannah wine

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: Allah's Apostle said, "Whoever drinks alcoholic drinks in the world and does not repent (before dying), will be deprived of Jannah wines in the Hereafter." (Bukhari, Book 7, Volume 69, Hadith 481)

Allah Cursed the seller, buyer and drinker of alcohol

Rasulallah (pbuh) said: “Allah has cursed wine, and whoever drinks it, whoever pours it, whoever sells it, whoever buys it, whoever presses (distils) it for another, whoever presses it for himself, whoever carries (transports) it, whoever accepts its delivery, or whoever eats (benefits from) its price (sale).”[Abu Dawud, Al-Hakim]

A Muslim cannot be a drinker

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "An adulterer, at the time he is committing illegal sexual intercourse is not a believer; and a person, at the time of drinking an alcoholic drink is not a believer; and a thief, at the time of stealing, is not a believer." (Bukhari, Book 7, Volume 69, Hadith 484)
"A drinker is like an idol worshipper." (Ibn maja)

Drinking is the way to all the evils

"Keep away from the drinkers fort hey are they ways to evils." (Hakim)

A complete believer doesn't drink

"A believer while drinking may not drink it as a complete believer." (Bukhari)

The light of iman leaves the heart of drinker
