 Is It Permissible to Keep Circle Beard in Islam?

Answer:

There is not a prohibition on growing circle beard in Islam; however, circle beard is not of the beard sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). So, if a Muslim grows circle beard with the intention of following sunnah, it will be bidah*; since Prophet Muhammad has never grown his beard in this way.

The main principle of the sunnah of keeping a beard is not to resemble mushriks

“Do the opposite of what the polytheists (mushrikeen)do. Keep the beards and cut the moustaches short.” (Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 72, Number 780)
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) has prohibited imitating mushrikeen. For a Muslim the measure must be “not to imitate mushrikeen” for every issue, not only for the issue of “keeping circle beard.”
“To shave the beards in order to appear young and beautiful is disliked.(makruh)” (Ghazali)
“The beard is a creation form that Allah has chosen and wants to see.” (Muslim)
Allah (swt) sent Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) as an example to us Surely, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) who performed the best example in every issue is also the best example to follow in order to gain the consent of Allah (swt).

*Bidah (innovation):

Bidah means, invented or changed religious practices which are not existed in the origin of the religion.
