Should the Private Parts (awrah) be Covered While Having Ghusul?
Should we cover our private parts if we are having our bath/ghusul when we are alone?
Answer:
It is sunnah to cover the private parts when you are washing up alone. But if uncovered, then the person should not direct himself/herself towards Qiblah.
It is one of the sunnah of ghusul to bath in a place where no one can see you. But if man among man and women among women had to do ghusul where there is no place to bath alone then they do their ghusul and bath by covering their private parts with waist cloth and they should also move away from the crowd. It is not permissible for them to uncover their private parts. It is also not permissible for men to bath among women and for women to bath among men. In this condition, they must perform their prayers by doing tayammum (dry ablution). Because, legally it means you couldn’t find water.
