 Does Soul Have Any weight?

Does soul have any weight? Can the human body loosing 21 grams after death be related to the weight of soul?

Answer:

Soul doesn't have weight

“They will ask thee concerning the Spirit. Say: The Spirit is by command of my Lord, and of knowledge ye have been vouchsafed but little.” (Al-Isra, 85)
This verse is a sign that soul is not a substance in the form of matter on the contrary it is a holy, pleasant (latif), abstract substance.
A substance that has dimension (height, width, length), color and weight in other words a matter with a shape is called an object. Soul is not an object. It does not occupy space. It is pleasant (latif) so it does not any weight.
For example, electricity is a presence. When it is connected to the washing machine, it makes it work. If you weigh the washing machine while it’s working with electricity you would see that it is not any different then when it is without electricity because electricity is a pleasant (latif), abstract presence.
Similarly, sunlight penetrates everything and it has no weight. When it comes to earth, it does not cause any changes about the weight of the earth. Because it is a pleasant noor (light). In a similar way, because soul is a pleasant (latif), luminous presence that comes from the World of Command (alam-i amr), it has no weight.
A human body loosing 21 grams after death is not related to the soul
In 1907, an American doctor claimed that his patients’ weights reduced 21 grams after death and this reduction was the soul that leaves the body when a person dies. Since souls having weight is out of the question, scholars of Islam say that this reduction in weight is due to the releasing of the air in the lungs also known as “the last breath” because volume of the released air is approximately 210 cc or 21 grams. Kaynak: http://askaquestionto.us - Does Soul Have Any weight?
